December has finally arrived and if you want to escape the Christmas madness, there is plenty going on at the Italian Cultural Institute and throughout London.

On the 8th of December at the  Institute of Contemporary Art, grand opening party for the exhibition «Radical Disco »: architectural drawings, writings, photographs of the designs for the construction of six discothèques in Italy between 1965 and 1975.

On the 9th at the Italian Cultural Institute Francesca Baldassari, in conversation with Letizia Treves, Stéphane Loire and Arnauld Brejon de Lavergnée, will present her latest monograph on XVII century Florentine painter Carlo Dolci. The talk will be followed by the screening of L’ultima nicchia by Chiara Nano, a documentary on the marble statue of S. Annibale di Francia, the monumental work recently completed by sculptor Giuseppe Ducrot for an external niche of the St Peter’s Basilica, in the Vatican.

At London gallery Hauser & Wirth, on the 10th, opening of Oscuramento: the Wars of Fabio Mauri, a solo exhibition of works by the great Italian artist, including the 29 waxworks reconstruction of Il gran consiglio del fascismo (The Grand Council of Fascism),  at the Italian Cultural Institute, in January.

For childrens: at the Italian Cultural Institute on the 12th with the screening of La Freccia Azzurra by Enzo D’Alò inspired by a story by Gianni Rodari, with voices of Dario Fo and Lella Costa and original score by Paolo Conte.

 

On the 16th at the Italian Cultural Institute Marco Paolini brings his Numero Primo, another monologue in our series of great theatrical events.

On the 21st  Ezio Bosso gives a concert at the Union Chapel, performing The 12th Room, his latest work.

And on the 30th at 1pm Elisabetta Rasy will give a lecture on “Tiziano a Venezia” at the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford.
